Burlington is a city located at the northwestern end of Lake Ontario and forms the western end of the Greater Toronto Area. It’s also part of the Hamilton metropolitan census area and has a population of about 200,000 people. Burlington is known for its world-renowned Royal Botanical Gardens and, of course, Canada’s Largest Ribfest, which has been running since 1996. Burlington has many activities to enjoy, including an event called Pumpkins After Dark in the fall, the Sound of Music Festival that happens annually at Spencer Smith Park, and the Bruce Trail, which is Canada’s oldest footpath with over 890 km of trail that can be explored year-round and follows the Niagara Escarpment. It’s also home to the Art Gallery of Burlington, the Burlington Centre Lions Farmers Market, and the Joseph Brant Museum. Burlington has a whopping 29 public elementary schools and 14 Roman Catholic Elementary Schools. The city also has six public high schools, 11 private schools, and two universities. Besides having so many schooling options, Burlington has around ten different recreation or community centers and 11 golf courses to keep you active.
