Stoney Creek is a community in the city of Hamilton located east of downtown Hamilton on the south shore of western Lake Ontario. It was classified as a city from 1984 to 2001 until it became amalgamated with the rest of the regional municipality. It now has a population of more than 112,028 people. Within Stoney Creek, there are many opportunities to enjoy nature, including the Devil’s Punch Bowl, Dofasco 2000 Trail, and conservation areas like Felker’s Falls, Fifty Point, and Eramosa Karst. History buffs might enjoy checking out the Battlefield House Museum and the Erland Lee Museum Home in Stoney Creek. The community of Stoney Creek has six public elementary schools as well as two public high schools – Orchard Park and Saltfleet District. It also has at least half a dozen community or recreation centres and two golf courses for sports fans.
