Grimsby is a picturesque town nestled between the shore of Lake Ontario and the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment. It’s the western boundary for the Niagara Region and is named after an old fishing town in England. Situated between Hamilton and St. Catharines, it has experienced significant growth over the past decade and is now home to about 28,000 people. Grimsby has many natural sites to visit, including the Beamer Memorial Conservation Area, which features Beamer Falls, Woolverton Conservation Area, and several parks, including Centennial Park, Forty Mile Creek Park, and Coronation Park, which has the outdoor Grimsby Lions Community Pool. Otherwise, explore the history at locations like the Grimsby Museum, Nelles Manor Museum, and the Painted Ladies of Grimsby, a series of brightly painted Victorian and Edwardian homes on the shore. You can also visit Forty Creek Distillery to learn about and purchase locally-made whisky, or for art lovers, there is the Grimsby Public Art Gallery and Crock A Doodle Grimsby. Regarding schooling in Grimsby, there are six public school options, as well as one public secondary school, Grimsby Secondary School, and one catholic secondary school, Blessed Trinity Secondary School. Grimsby also has at least three community centers along with the Peach King Centre, Grimsby YMCA, and Livingston Activity Centre. In terms of geography, there are basically two neighbourhoods in Grimsby to decide between, Grimsby Mountain and Grimsby Lakeside, depending on your preference of scenery.
