St. Catharines is located in southern Ontario and is the largest city in the Niagara Region. Originally settled by Loyalists in the 1780s, it’s now home to about 141,000 people. Furthermore, St. Catharines is nicknamed “The Garden City” since it has 1,000 acres of parks, gardens, and trails. Some of the most popular natural sites include the Morningstar Mill, which has Decew Falls, Montebello Park, Jaycee Gardens Park, Mountain Locks Park, and Lancaster Park. You can also visit the historic Lakeside Park Carousel, St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, or go on a private, scenic winery tour in the area. Regarding schooling, St. Catharines has 25 public elementary schools, 13 catholic elementary schools, as well as seven public secondary schools and three catholic secondary schools.
